- Go to this National Wildlife Federation website to learn how to plan and build your habitat: www.nwf.org/backyardwildlifehabitat
- You can order a BWH Starter Kit, Planning Guide, Habitat Video, and Garden Tool Set.
- Once you have built your habitat, click on the application link below to officially certify your backyard as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat site.

| Some requirements for certification: |
- You will need to explain how you provide food, water, cover, and places to raise young for the wildlife in your backyard.
- You must show that you are providing at least three food sources, one water source, two cover sources, and two places to raise young.
- You must show that you are doing at least two sustainable gardening practices.
- More information on these requirements can be found through the NWF website above or through the BWH Starter Kit.
